UTD Geoclub Drone
Drones will impact people in some unexpected ways. For geoscientists, a drone would be an useful tool to understand the Earth.
UTD Geoclub, alumni Dave Williamson and Geosciences Dept together sponsored our first Geo-Drone, a 3DR SOLO Drone paired with GoPro Hero 4 black (4K resolution), back in Feb 2016. With this drone, UTD GSS has made 3 high-resolution geological 3D models and tons of aerial footage in the field.
