A Geochronologic Overview of the Greater Antilles Arc
This video summarizes what we know about the age of the rocks of the Greater Antilles Arc, which existed on the northern margin of the Caribbean plate until it collided with N. America in Eocene time, about 40 million years ago. These rocks are exposed on the islands of Cuba, Jamaica, Hispaniola, Puerto Rico, and the Virgin Islands. This work is presented at the XIV Congreso Cubano de Geologia in 2021.
